Brian not only demonstrated quick nursing interventions while caring for the patient, he understood the gravity of the situation at hand.
We had a very sick patient in our unit. Brian carried out every order quickly, efficiently, calmly, and effectively. Every time I checked in on the order I had verbally given, it was already completed. Fluids were started and were given quickly and appropriately escalated. The patient went to CT very quickly and surgery was consulted, and the patient was readied for the OR. Brian’s actions were essential in saving the patient's life and providing care to this patient. I was honored to work with him and would like to see his excellent work and caring attitude towards the patients and the family members publicly recognized.

Brian not only demonstrated quick nursing interventions while caring for the patient, he understood the gravity of the situation at hand. He utilizes critical thinking daily to prioritize his care based on the needs of the patients. His work ethic for helping his colleagues is a model for newer nurses and well-received by all. I would like to share some of the outstanding contributions in the last year. He’s been recognized multiple times for outstanding performance, service excellence, and making a difference every day and for patient safety, and by being a top performer for BCMA scanning 100%. He recently completed the USGIV training class and is part of a dynamic team of sixty nurses who are integral to assisting their colleagues with difficult IV insertions, and rapid interventions. He’s part of a team that extends themselves to other departments to place USGIV’s when nurses are unable to do so by standard methods. I would just add he’s a College of Nursing graduate and was on the Dean’s list for 2019 as well as a dedicated ASB student mentor. Brian, I sincerely look forward to seeing you become a Resus trained Nurse. You truly embody what it means to be dedicated to serving our patients in the community.
