Briana was my day-shift nurse. I was a very scared patient experiencing symptoms I never had before. It was terrifying. Briana expressed care for me the moment I met her. She showed compassion for my feelings (which were all over the place). She made me laugh and let me know she understands how I feel when I cried. Although the floor was very busy, she was very present with me when she was working with me, she made sure I had a complete understanding of the medicine I was given and worked with my husband to ensure he was educated on my at-home care which required injections (Neither of us ever had to do that before).

Briana was amazing at explaining in detail and never made me feel like I was asking too much if I needed anything. One evening, I wanted to walk around the floor to stretch my legs. It was around shift change. Briana stayed with me and walked a lap around the floor. I know she just worked a very long shift and she did not have to do that! I kept trying to cut it short so she could go home but she kept saying, "Oh no, I’m good." She wanted me to take the time I needed. She would always check on me after the Doctors would come through making sure I talked to everyone I wanted to and offered to check on or make a note about anything I needed clarification on. Although my medical issue was scary, I will never forget the amazing nurse that was by my side encouraging me, educating me, advocating for me, and doing everything she could to help me heal. I am so incredibly grateful for the care I received from Briana.
