She soared, in my eyes, as she covered and answered all my questions. Mom can be a handful but Bri never wavered
Labor Day weekend coming up and I was awakened at 3 am by a telephone call from Tallahatchie General Hospital ER. My mother was just admitted to the ER and I received the news that she was Septic. It was determined that there were no beds in MS to be admitted and the small, rural hospital calling is not equipped to handle medications nor supervision needed to administer these life-saving antibiotics. After a gut-wrenching moment and a short call to my siblings, I asked to have her transferred 3 hours from home to Magnolia Regional in Corinth. They life-flighted her and I followed by car.

Mom arrived about 45 minutes before I did and I was a mess. When I arrived and felt and could see mom was in the capable hands of Bri, I could relax and I so needed to know and feel mom was safe. Her tone and professionalism are paralleled to none. She soared, in my eyes, as she covered and answered all my questions. Mom can be a handful but Bri never wavered. She impressed me to the utmost when I told her “Thank you for being mom's nurse, I can tell you are a great one.”

In her humbleness, Bri said, "I am the one blessed to have your mom as my patient.” Bri is a shining light in the darkness and my heart is full as she exemplifies Christ in her presentation. I was so anxious before arriving. I mean what are the chances that we would have to travel 3 hours to be paired up with a nurse offering such calm and knowledge. I should not have let my heart be troubled as He knew our needs before we even knew them. I would like to nominate this lovely nurse for an award for knowing exactly how to deal with an 84-year-old angry, and afraid, dementia patient. Bri was patient, caring, soft-spoken, never angry (my mom brings anger out in many). She is my hero, my Angel.
