December 2024 Honoree
Brianna Ehlinger, BSN, RN
My 20-year-old daughter broke her tibial plateau. After being admitted, she woke up in the morning to find out surgery had been postponed. She was uncomfortable and discouraged. My daughter has many health challenges, and Bri spent the entire shift being trauma-informed with everything. She was mindful of how her mental health and physical health were connected and went above and beyond to do things like find a wheelchair so she could get out of the room and provide her with a walker to be independent. She was proactive in checking the surgery schedule and letting us know when it was scheduled, as we had not yet met with the surgical team.
Bri would be an excellent recipient of this award because she attentively and diligently treated my daughter with a whole-person approach, making her feel comfortable the entire time. She is an example of not just how all nurses should be, but doctors and other care team members as well. She had a huge impact!

Thank you, Brianna, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
