I want to recognize this nurse of 4 West. She caught an error I made that could have potentially caused harm to a patient if she had not been diligent and questioned the dose. I want all to know that I am thankful she brought it to my attention. I appreciate her diligence and teamwork to provide safe care to our patients. The patient had been receiving doses of metoprolol tartrate 12.5 mg in the previous days. I verified an order for metoprolol tartrate 12.5 mg IV x1 dose. I failed to notice the change to IV. Brianna notified me to inquire if that seemed correct. I knew right away it was not. We worked together to notify the provider and got the order corrected. It is great when we all can work together. Safety is always the top priority.
