Brianna Russo, BSN, RN

I would like to nominate nurse Brianna Russo after experiencing her care at Huntington Hospital. Although I wasn't her patient for long, she made a great impression on me. Sometimes it doesn't take a long stay to see someone's qualities. I have been in the medical field for a long time; I have taught many students, and I know what I look for in the students I teach. Brianna ticks all the boxes! When it comes to patient attentiveness, she is always ready to listen and respond. If I asked her a question or was seeking a solution to a problem, she acted quickly to try to resolve it. No question went unanswered. If she said she would find out, she did, no exception. I was in a tough spot with pain, open wounds, needing to deal with how to have a PICC installed for meds at home. I had many questions. She helped me find out from the correct people when things would happen. She never ignored me. I also noticed that when other nurses called for assistance, such as respiratory care, she was the first to respond, "Got it!" She didn't know I could hear everything, but I did. She did the right thing, not because of the credit she would get, but because she is a very responsible young woman. She has great camaraderie with her peers. So, in my humble opinion, I wish to nominate Nurse Brianna Russo for the DAISY Award!
