In addition to arranging the patient's rescheduling of her appointment, Brianna also stayed until well after the office closed to assist with this patient's care when she could have gone home.
Brianna is a very kind and compassionate nurse all the time, but this is a great example of that! She was working on phone detail at our office, answering calls, and assisting patients on the phone with medication refills, appointment rescheduling, etc. One of our patients, with many chronic health conditions, as well as mobility issues, has a difficult time getting to her appointments, as she uses Medicare transport services and is in an electric wheelchair. This patient was in need of a very important set of tests, including a pap and biopsy, that she had to have collected in the office and sent off before an upcoming surgery. The patient also needed an ultrasound. Without the tests, she would have to reschedule her surgery, which is critical for her to have due to her current symptoms.

This patient was unable to come to her originally scheduled appointment time due to a mishap with transport. The patient was upset and desperate to reschedule the appointment so she could have her surgery. Brianna was empathetic to the patient and understood the importance of her pre-surgery testing. She worked tirelessly, speaking with the patient, the provider, the nurse working with the provider (me), and the transport company to try to get the patient rescheduled for a same-day transport back to the office. She got the number to multiple transport companies for the patient to call. She also coordinated for the provider to speak with transport on the patient's behalf as well. The patient finally was able to schedule a ride with transport for the office closing, thanks to Brianna'S efforts in coordinating with the patient and the transport company to get the patient a ride.

In addition to arranging the patient's rescheduling of her appointment, Brianna also stayed until well after the office closed to assist with this patient's care when she could have gone home. She is very empathetic and compassionate, and she went above and beyond what was necessary to do what was best for the patient. She is a lovely person but also an exceptional nurse, and our office is lucky to have her.
