Brianne Derrick, RN

Brianne was having a hard week; a lot of emotionally taxing patients had worn her down. But...when one of Brianne's patients went comfort care, she didn't just do the bare minimum. Brianne gave the patient a bath that bordered on a spa day, and was so kind and comforting to him that you could see him relax despite his obvious pain. She had told me earlier that same shift how exhausted she was, so to see this nurse going to such great lengths to give exceptional care to this patient was both inspiring and beautiful. Brianne is one of our most compassionate and kind nurses, and this is just one example of how she always thinks of patients first. Her compassion is a superpower that I aspire to have.
