Brianne Sy, BSN, RN

My son has spent his whole life in and out of Texas Children’s Hospital. He recently turned 10 and had a major surgery requiring a 10 day stay on 11 WT. Brianne Sy was our first nurse when we got to the floor. We had her for 5 different days throughout our stay. No matter how busy Bri was, she was never too busy to check on us, bring pain medication and just chat. There were times I would run down to the cafeteria and return to find her sitting in the chair next to my son’s bedside discussing all of his favorite things- football, dogs, chick-fil-a! On Bri’s off days, my son would count down how long until she came back. We’ve been home for a few weeks, and my son still asks to go and visit her. Bri embodies everything that a pediatric nurse should be. She was an advocate on hard days, comforting, always ready to answer questions and most importantly she made an effort to make a really hard time in our lives have a little bit of normalcy. We can’t thank her enough for everything!
