My wife has been in Oakwood Hospital with some very critical problems. She is 71 years old and her body has been beaten and battered for the better part of 60 years--she is indeed a survivor!! Her story started a little less than 40 years ago with the diagnosis of Behcet's Syndrome which ultimately destroyed her colon and left her with an ileostomy for all of these many decades. Her first week at Oakwood brought on (2) major surgeries and a third surgery about a week later--needless to say the family was just about frantic after all of this. But I am here to tell you that your nursing staff at this hospital is 'not among the best' but "is the best" of any nursing staff I have ever encountered.

My wife's sister was an award winning RN for many years before retiring about 20 years ago and the praise for your nursing staff which has emanated from her lips has been impressive. It is very difficult to mesh professional competency with compassion and genuine understanding, but Bridget Green has married those qualities and it shows in her phenomenal bedside manner.

These qualities are very difficult to reconcile into one neat little package, Bridget has done so. What this has meant to the family goes beyond what words can express at this point, but suffice it to say that her compassion and genuine goodness has been a blessing for all of us.
