When Bridget is the rapid response nurse, I am completely confident that the patients will be on her radar long before there is even a real need for her to see them.
Bridget is an outstanding critical care nurse for many reasons. Some of these are her commitment to providing excellent patient-centered care, acting in the relief charge role, precepting new hires, participating in shared governance, completing the nursing professional ladder each year, and attending several conferences to represent AHRO.

While all these things make Bridget an excellent candidate for the DAISY Award there is another role she plays where she exceeds any standard and is, in my opinion high above the bar that is set by anyone else. This is the role of Rapid Response Nurse.

Bridget is so organized and diligent that she is on top of every patient who has a need for her. Not only that, but she looks into critical labs frequently during her shift and acts on any problem that she could anticipate before any sepsis alert needs to be called or request for her to see a patient from nursing staff.  Bridget has prevented many code blues over the time she has been acting in this role. She also is a staunch advocate for patients and will make sure that they are moved to higher levels of care if needed. When Bridget is the rapid response nurse, I am completely confident that the patients will be on her radar long before there is even a real need for her to see them.

Bridget is very deserving of this award, and I hope she gets the opportunity to be recognized for her commitment in providing exceptional care to the patients and families, as well as the support she gives to staff and the entire organization.
