My husband was a gift of life donor, and Bridget was one nurse I remember. I was in the room when she was repositioning him one afternoon. I mentioned that his feet were always cold, and he liked to wear socks to bed. Even though he was totally unresponsive (brain dead) at the time, she went and got yellow socks and put them on him. That gesture was so meaningful to me and showed her commitment to patient/family-centered, individualized care. I have been a nurse for 40 years and have cared for many critical care patients. I was so impressed by the care that Bridget and others gave my husband that I wanted to nominate her for the wonderful DAISY Award. Thanks.
