Bridget shows that her caring and compassionate work ethic is what some of these patients thrive for, and she is consistent with this to make sure they get the best care...
Bridget has consistently demonstrated her compassion for our population on several occasions by communicating clearly with them and volunteering to assist with appointments or nursing interventions for our higher-acuity patients. Most recently, she worked hard to establish a strong therapeutic rapport with a medically fragile cardiac patient in our program. She did not shy away from the patient's unprovoked aggression towards staff and peers. The patient had been refusing medical appointments and EKGs. Bridget assisted him in ambulating to the treatment room and provided communication to redirect him throughout the process of obtaining an EKG. Through her continued efforts to assist the patient with his weekly EKGs, he gained confidence with the staff and began attending the EKGs without Bridget needing to be present. She also provided supportive education regarding his medication. Thanks to her initiative, the patient actively participated in his medical care and has since improved his cardiac health.
This is just one of the many important contributions Bridget has made. She is an active member of the treatment team, ensuring concise communication among all disciplines, assisting her co-workers with guidance and training, and serving as a great supervisor to the staff. Bridget does not shy away from any responsibility and is willing to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the program, both in staffing and patient care. She exemplifies compassion in every interaction, giving patients the time to be heard about any issues, regardless of their current hygiene status. Because of her self-drive, she has been a key factor in our program's reopening and daily operations. Thank you, Bridget, for all that you have done and will continue to do. You are greatly valued and appreciated.

Bridget has shown excellent communication skills with these patients and usually gets them to comply with coming over for their exams. One of the notoriously difficult male patients decided he was not going to come over for an EKG anymore, but instead of telling me the patient refused, Bridget obtained the EKGs herself on multiple occasions. This was definitely appreciated due to this patient having some complex heart issues. When called about another difficult patient, she immediately jumped to the job of obtaining the EKG on the unit since the patient was uncooperative in coming to the Holly's Unit for the exam. Bridget is a team player, is always ready to help, and is such an asset to have on the BMTP. Bridget shows that her caring and compassionate work ethic is what some of these patients thrive for, and she is consistent with this to make sure they get the best care even when it could be easier to just tell me the patient refused. I appreciate her determination to help the patients get the medical care they need.

Bridget Ochoa’s exceptional dedication and responsiveness play a huge role in assisting the OSCs to ensure the hospital remains in compliance. When AIMS reports go out, she provides detailed and diligent explanations for why items remain in draft or why an AIMs assessment is pending or incomplete. As soon as the reports are delivered, I can count on Bridget to respond promptly, often with a completion email for the AIMs assessment. She also keeps me informed on the clinician concurrent draft assessments, explaining why certain items are in draft and, if possible finalizing PNA entries or directing me to the appropriate supervisor for resolution. Her diligence directly impacts our ability to keep items out of draft, which is something central office truly appreciates. Thank you so much, Bridget, for consistently going above and beyond. Your hard work is definitely noticed and greatly valued.
