Brielle Bricker, RN
Brielle was an exceptional nurse during one of the most difficult times for my family. My grandfather was transferred to 4EW on comfort care after we learned he had a large subdural hematoma. Our family made the decision to honor his wishes and not to pursue surgery. He had been battling cancer for a long time, but this was still sudden and unexpected, and we were not prepared to say goodbye.
That night, Brielle was truly a shining light for all of us. She provided outstanding care for my grandfather and went above and beyond in the small and meaningful ways that mattered so much. She gently wiped his face and took special care to clean his eyes, something that was especially important after his radiation treatments, as they would often water and become uncomfortable. Her attention to these details brought us great comfort.
She was diligent in ensuring his mouth care was completed every two hours and more frequently when needed. She thoughtfully repositioned and turned him to keep him comfortable at all times.
Most importantly, Brielle showed genuine compassion. She spoke to my grandfather with kindness and always explained what she was doing, even when he could not respond. Knowing he was being treated with such dignity and care meant everything to our family during such a heartbreaking time.
We are incredibly grateful for the care Brielle provided and will never forget the impact she made on our family.
