Brigid recently exemplified an "above and beyond' event. Not only did she attempt to coordinate top-notch patient care for a little girl and her family who are Spanish speaking and required an interpreter, but she also recognized the patient's need for sedation. Brigid implored the sedation physician to provide anxiolysis for this patient; however, once she realized that anxiolysis would interfere with the patient's ability to get home, she singlehandedly developed an alternative plan for this patient's care. This patient has significant medical needs and a complicated past medical history. Brigid stayed late to ensure the patient's family had an appropriate medical ride for their very long ride home and coordinated the appropriate scheduling for GA. She extended compassion, dignity, and respect to this family without judgment and showed all of us how to be a true champion and ambassador for patients. Kudos to her!
