Brigid was so compassionate and always had an upbeat, cheery disposition. She was like a ray of sunshine when they entered the room.
My almost 93-year-old mother was brought to the hospital, experiencing extreme abdominal and chest pain. She was in the hospital for six days. During the time doctors were determining the diagnosis, she had the same dayshift nurse for many of those days. We were very sad that this nurse was not working on the day of her discharge. Brigid was so compassionate and always had an upbeat, cheery disposition. She was like a ray of sunshine when they entered the room. She strived hard to make my mom comfortable at all times. The compassion for my mom was evident at all times. My mom had stomach issues that made her feel embarrassed and ashamed, but Brigid was so kind and patient during the clean-up process that my mother became at ease. She was very knowledgeable and proficient regarding any medical questions we had. When we needed assistance, Brigid was ALWAYS prompt to reply. We never had to wait. She genuinely seemed to care for my mom and made a bad situation so much better. We kept teasing that we were going to adopt the nurse and make them part of our family. She even acted like a liaison when we had questions about doctors and other health care providers in the hospital. When the IV potassium was burning my mom, she switched arms to a bigger vein and slowed down the dispensing which eased the discomfort. Overall, Brigid went up and beyond her normal duties, and we cannot say enough good things about them. She is truly an outstanding employee and representative of your organization.
