Brigitte was everything that I didn't know I needed. She took her time with me, explaining everything she was going to do before she did it.
I would like to say first that every single nurse/caregiver that walked into my room was amazing. There is (in my opinion) no greater time of vulnerability than when you are going to deliver a baby. It is such a scary moment, filled with uncertainty, and the people around you can make such a difference in your experience. Unfortunately, I have PTSD from my first experience with childbirth. It took me 3 years to finally be okay enough to have another baby and I was terrified every step of the way until I had Brigitte as my nurse. She was everything that I didn't know I needed. She took her time with me, explaining everything she was going to do before she did it. She took the time to get to know who I was as her patient and guided me as I progressed into labor. It was so easy to see how passionate she is as a nurse. Her kindness allowed me to recognize that my first experience was normal. My husband and I are already planning on having one more baby, and because of Brigitte, I will no longer be afraid.
I never thought healing would be part of my journey when I walked into my room, but the second she walked through those doors, my healing started.
