When I first met Britney, my grandpa was on a ventilation machine and for the most part, was unconscious. Even when my grandpa wasn't awake, Britney was talking to him and being all-around amazing. She never once hurried or went out of the room without making sure my grandpa was comfortable AND making sure that all of our many questions were answered. She was doing whatever she could to comfort our hurting hearts. Britney exemplifies what any human being should strive to be like. She is a compassionate and knowledgeable nurse who was always there when our family needed her (even when we had to interrupt her one chance to eat lunch during her shift). Speaking of that interruption, she jumped up without hesitation and got prepped to fully treat my grandpa even though he was no longer "her" patient! I am sure I could go on about the wonderful nurse who managed to hold an entire family together and give example after example, but honestly, my writing skills and description of our experience wouldn't even come close to scratching the surface of the impact Britney had on us all. Britney, if you somehow see this nomination or someone else is reading it to you: THANK YOU. We all truly love you (grandpa included).
