Britney continually demonstrates all of the qualities that a patient hopes to see in their nurse. She is kind, extremely hardworking, team-oriented, smart, and a true patient advocate. As her colleague, I have witnessed her be placed in situations that required tact and respectful communication. She always impresses me with her ability to handle it - especially with her (surprising) minimal experience. She always seems to get the worst assignment somehow, yet she continually shows joy, humility, and no complaints. I have worked with a lot of different people and Britney is someone who I would always choose to have on my team.
Even when she is near drowning, she is always available and offers help when she sees a coworker in need. Britney is the person I know I can go to.
It's difficult for me to think of a specific story or situation because Britney is hard-working and positive every day. One time she had a patient who deteriorated quickly and was suddenly changed to DNR. Within minutes of removing the bipap machine the patient passed. Not only did Britney take care of the family both incredibly respectfully and professionally, but she also wept for the patient in private. She truly cares.
