Britni not only was my caregiver/nurse she was my source of hope, motivation, and strength to get through Covid.
Britni went far beyond the call of duty and defined the highest standards of care and compassion. She kept in frequent and consistent contact with my family members to update them on the status of my health. She was always mindful to answer any questions with patience and care. Most of all what makes her exemplary and special is her energy and bubbliness which she brings when she enters the room bringing comfort to you. Her ability to listen to me and comfort me when I felt anxious and lonely during unpredictable times, with my oxygen levels erratically rising and failing, holding my hand and consoling me that all will be OK. She would say, “we will beat this together”. On days where she was not my nurse she would pop in for a minute to see how I was coming along and if I were sleeping would leave me a note of encouragement.
Her ability to give each patient attention and feel loved in the midst of a pandemic along with her work ethic is amazing. I’m impressed by her sincere concern for each and every patient that she tends to. When she discovered that knitting was something that I enjoyed doing and was a stress reliever for me, Britni took upon herself to go out of her way and get me yarn and needles, crossword puzzle books, and a notebook where she and other nurses wrote encouraging messages which even now brings tears to my eyes. She provided me with the tools that allowed me to relax and occupy my mind and my uneasiness.
She not only was my caregiver/nurse she was my source of hope, motivation, and strength to get through Covid. There are not enough words to express my gratitude to Britni. Her dedication and compassion have made a difference in my life and I will forever remember her. Britni deserves to be recognized as there are not enough words to express her kindness, compassion, and care as a caregiver.
