He was shaking and scared, but Britta made him feel comfortable and safe.
We came to the Emergency Department because my family member had been falling down and being physically abused. The patient is an alcoholic and was not doing well. The patient was difficult to handle, and Britta showed a lot of compassion. The patient was in a lot of pain and did not want to answer the admission questions. Britta took the time to explain why the answers were so important and needed to better care for him. She did it in a way that the patient did not feel embarrassed, and he could tell her the truth and not feel bad. It is difficult for staff to work with a patient who is going through detox. He was shaking and scared, but Britta made him feel comfortable and safe.
I was in nursing for 30 years before retiring. If I was looking to hire a nurse, I would hire her in a heartbeat. She is an extraordinary nurse. I am very critical when it comes to my family and someone I love. Thank you for sharing this wonderful, kind, and compassionate person. She is the kind of nurse I would pray to have.
