Brittany Barden, RN, BSN

I received handoff from Brittany after she spent the night taking care of a young patient with a severe brain injury. Withdraw of care for this patient was planned during the following shift. During her shift, Brittany did an incredible job comforting the patient’s mother in what was one of the worst times in her life. In addition to comforting the mother, Brittany went above and beyond to find supplies and create ways to memorialize the patient for their family. Brittany made memory crafts out of the patient’s rhythm strips and fingerprints. It was clear that Brittany made a huge impact on her based on the tearful hug shared at the end of Brittany’s shift.
