Brittany’s calm presence and genuine concern for others make her a role model for nursing excellence.
I am honored to nominate Brittany for the DAISY Award because she exemplifies every aspect of the PETALS criteria through her extraordinary care.
P – Passion and Compassion:
Brittany’s passion for nursing shines through in the compassionate care she provides to her patients. She doesn’t just provide clinical care—she builds meaningful connections that make patients feel valued and respected.
E – Empathy:
As the daughter, I would like to share how Brittany engaged with my dad in a caring, genuine manner. She found common ground with him through conversations about dogs and the outdoors, listened attentively, and sat with him during moments of anxiety. Her empathy brought comfort and peace during a difficult time.
T – Trust and Teamwork:
Brittany earned the trust of her patient and our family so deeply that he said she was “the best nurse he has ever had in his entire life.” He cared immensely for Brittany and even expressed his wish for her to continue caring for him in Casper because of the trust and bond she created.
A – Admirable Attributes:
Her professionalism, kindness, and ability to connect on a personal level are truly admirable. Brittany’s calm presence and genuine concern for others make her a role model for nursing excellence.
L – Love for Patients and the Profession:
My dad felt cared for “like he was her own dad.” This speaks volumes about Brittany’s love for her patients and her dedication to the nursing profession. She treats every individual with dignity and heartfelt compassion.
S – Selflessness:
Brittany consistently goes above and beyond, taking time to sit with patients when they are anxious and ensuring they feel safe and supported. Her selflessness and commitment to patient-centered care are evident in every interaction.
In the family’s words:
“She was a superb caregiver—top notch.”
These words reflect the profound impact Brittany had on this patient and his loved ones. Her care was not only clinical but deeply human, leaving a lasting impression during his final days.
