Brittany Buck was nominated by first time parents she assisted during an extended labor. Buck was assigned to the couple when they were admitted five days ahead of their due date. Despite the early arrival, the couple wanted to follow their original plan for a natural delivery. After being in labor for over 26 hours the chances of a C-section seemed to be increasing. Later, despite another nurse being assigned to the couple, Buck helped to guide the expectant mother through different pushing positions and provided comforting feedback. The couple shares that Buck's positive attitude calmed them down and buoyed their spirits.

The couple went on to successfully deliver a baby girl naturally. They credit Buck with helping them see their birth plan through and bring their baby into the world.
