Brittany cared for a patient in ICU during his last hours. Family decided to withdraw life support measures. This was a very hard and stressful time for this family. They did not want to witness his struggles immediately after extubation. Brittany sat at the bedside and held his hand for hours. She ensured he had all of the appropriate comfort measures in place and reassured the family continuously that he was not alone. She talked to him and assured him that everything was going to be okay. The family eventually came back to the bedside and because of Brittany's caring way, they were able to be with him when he finally passed away.
