She is a cheerleader, motivator, and all-around friendly person that projects positivity each day.
- Brittany shows compassion with each patient and family she interacts with, even if it is only on the phone. She is kind, caring and makes the families feel heard and important. She recognizes when a patient is nervous or scared and will call Child Life to come and help/provide preparation. She is a team player-helping even before asked. I have personally seen her comfort a scared child in recovery, help calm a mother's fears over the phone when doing screenings for anesthesia, and provide encouragement to a teenager getting an IV placed. Brittany is someone who will offer ideas to improve patient processes and volunteer to help with implementing those processes. She works to make things better for patients/families. She not only works to make the patient and family's experience to be positive, but she is also a calming presence to those who work alongside her. She is a cheerleader, motivator, and all-around friendly person that projects positivity each day.
- Brittany is very compassionate with her patients, their families, and her co-workers. For example, when an autistic child was recovering from anesthesia and started to become anxious, she remembered that he loved music. She went to the trouble of finding music he would enjoy even though his mom would be there in a few minutes. When she was working with a patient from Easter Seals, she was able to establish a good rapport with his caregiver & also found the patient's sense of humor and made him laugh several times. As a team member, Brittany is always willing to do anything to help. She will set up and clean equipment, help with other patients and communicates clearly with everyone. Brittany maintains a friendly attitude even at the end of a long week that included overtime.
