There was a stroke alert called. Brittany responded to the code as the Stroke Coordinator. She serves as a resource during stroke alerts for the staff and the patient as strokes are her expertise. Brittany assisted the nursing staff with the patient. The CT revealed a subdural and Brittany advocated for the patient's transfer. She remained with the patient and around the unit the entire day. Beds were at a standstill but she stayed and remained as a sense of calm for the patient who was in a scary situation. Brittany is an incredible nurse and deserves to be recognized for her kind, soft, and excellent bedside manner. She was instrumental for this patient and the staff on the unit as the day was busy.
