Brittany Erickson, RN, BSN

Brittany goes above and beyond for her patients. When I got admitted for bed rest due to preeclampsia, Brittany was the first nurse I remember having. She took the time to explain every medication to me, why they were important, and how they were going to benefit me. When I was able to shower, she took the time to be patient with me and waited for me to finish my shower to make sure I was able to get back in bed. She made me laugh during one of the scariest times of my life.

The day I had my baby, Brittany was my nurse and knew how terrified I was to have my baby at 25 weeks. She ensured she was able to be in the OR with me to calm my nerves as much as possible. After I lost my baby, due to failure to be able to intubate, Brittany cried with me. The emotion that Brittany allows herself to feel in such a heartbreaking situation helped me so much. It would be so easy for her to stay unattached, but the fact that she cares is one of the many reasons she is a DAISY Nurse. Brittany and the staff at the Love Family Women’s Center made sure I was sent home with photos of my baby, like a newborn photo shoot. They also made me Christmas ornaments, foot and handprints, blankets, and several other items that have brought me so much peace during my mourning. I am so thankful to have these mementos of my angel baby. I am so thankful I was blessed with a compassionate, patient, loving nurse like Brittany.
