Brittany learned quickly to motivate my mother referring to things she liked such as reading and music.
I met Brittany when my mother was a patient in the ICU. I knew immediately she was a great person. Her professional skills were amazing but what struck me more than anything was her personal interactions with not only my mom but me as well, not having working knowledge in the medical field it sometimes makes it hard to understand what exactly is going on. Whenever I had questions or just wanted to talk Brittany was there without hesitation.
Brittany learned quickly to motivate my mother referring to things she liked such as reading and music. She impressed me the most after coming on shift one morning. Mama had a stressful night the night before and the morning had not been much better. When she came in to give my mom her morning meds, she said they were like Elvis Pressley - They had her "All Shook Up" (in her singing voice). My mom smiled, which she does not do much of lately, and it meant the world to me.
What I am trying to say is that sometimes it's the small stuff that means the most. Not only is Brittany an amazing nurse but she cares and to me, that is one of the most important jobs as a nurse!
