Brittany Hall 2023, BSN, RN

I had the pleasure of being under the care of Brittany, a Pre-Op Nurse while awaiting my laparoscopic abdominal myomectomy. Brittany could have made my experience tortuous, and arduous. She could have been like so many people. She could have been a sheep, but even with hesitancy in her eyes, she treated me like a human being. She chose to see me as a human and had the common sense to know she did not know me. I was so scared. I was so scared to get this procedure done. Brittany made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I honestly did not think I was going to go through with the surgery and had never had surgery before. I was getting this surgery done for my health and understood after research that some women get this surgery to have a child.

I am an African American woman and fibroids are common in our demographic...I have never tried to have a child. I was also hesitant to get the procedure due to being judged like so many. Brittany, even if she thought anything, she treated me like a human being. She was professional, kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I will never forget her energy. It was so calm, and quiet. If you have gone through what I have, and you meet someone like Brittany before your first surgery? She is a mother, and a daughter, and is a very lucky girl.
