My husband and I arrived ready to have our first child. I was nervous and excited, as most people are, and wasn’t sure exactly what the process would look like. After a night of rest and laboring, we met our nurse, Brittany. I was immediately so impressed by her positive attitude, listening, professionalism, and flexibility.
She immediately met me where I was at and was a huge contributor to me feeling seen, comfortable, and empowered during the labor and birth process. Brittany checked in frequently and helped me with lots of position changes, always making sure I was comfortable and sharing extra tips with me along the way. I felt extremely supported by Brittany, yet she also gave my husband and me space to enjoy time together.
Her speech was kind and encouraging. She followed through on everything she said she would do. And one of the most important things to me she answered all my many questions with impressive knowledge, patience, and kindness. As a first-time mom, I never had to wonder if my question was silly or if I would’ve met with a short or unhelpful answer. Brittany was patient in explaining all the things, even more than what I asked, and because of that, I felt safe and informed throughout the entire process.
I genuinely could not have asked for a better nurse to partner with my husband and me during our birth process. Brittany is someone I have told everyone about when I talk about my birth. She is part of our story, and I’m so grateful for her. I hope that she knows she is doing exactly what she is made to do. And in case she forgets, I hope she also hears this from me - that she is making a lasting impact on mothers and families in ways she doesn’t even realize with her gentleness, fun personality, and absolutely exceptional patient care.
Brittany, I am so, so grateful for you, and I hope you get recognized for the amazing care you provided me and I’m sure so many others. Thank you!
