As a family, we brought my mother to the hospital. We were taken to the 4th floor after being in the emergency department. We had noticed that my mother was not quite acting like herself and told, Brittany Ingram, my mother's nurse. She immediately asked my family if my mom had been as lethargic as she was now before coming to the 4th floor. We told her no, and that we had told the people downstairs that she was not herself.
Brittany agreed that what she was seeing in my mother was not what she received from the emergency room nurse. Brittany called her charge nurse in and called the doctor. My mom couldn't tell us who she was, or where she was, that was very unsettling! My mom is normally well put together and knows everything. Brittany remained at the bedside the entire time, putting in orders as the doctor read them. She even ran out in the hallway and grabbed a man who works in respiratory to get an ABG on my mom! Brittany gave exceptional care to my mother in the first sight of seeing her in the hallway.
Brittany acted quickly and was on top of everything; she was impressive. She listened to our concerns, updated us on everything that was going on and even explained what was going on. Once my mother was taken out of the room, Brittany remained at the bedside still caring for me, my brother, and in-laws. She did not stop her care when my mom left, she continued it even onto us. It is nurses like her that make a difference, even in a small way. We will never forget her or the experience we had at your hospital. It was because of her that our worst experience ever at your hospital turned into a wonderful one.
