I’ve been dealing with many unknown, confusing health issues the past few years, with drastic weight loss and fast deterioration. Chronic diverticulitis became insufferable, leading to surgery. Due to my thinness, 96 pounds at admission, they had to do an open procedure.

I had discussed with my nurse that I had been having issues with my blood pressure and that a doctor friend had mentioned Addison’s disease. When I had a crisis episode in the hospital and my blood pressure dropped drastically, it would have been very easy to attribute it to the surgery.

Nurse Brit remembered our conversation, told the doctors this has happened at home and I truly believe she is the reason I now have an accurate diagnosis because they knew what to test for.

She has amazing attention to detail; she's kind and caring. I’m so grateful for her diligence and advocacy on my behalf; I feel she went above and beyond her job requirements to help me.
