Brittney, you recently helped a new admission patient on CC through a difficult transition home. With grace, compassion, and kindness you served this patient and his wife. You made the best out of a bad situation and remained positive and helpful. Even though you couldn't get the patient to his house right away, while waiting for oxygen in the mobile care unit, you served him with compassion and care, ensuring he was medicated, had his wife and dog with him, and even made sure he had his favorite music available to listen to. I can't imagine the relief and comfort you brought to this patient and his wife as you helped him meet his end of life goal of being at his home to pass away. Even though the initial transition was extremely bumpy, you made it seem to go smoothly, turning a difficult time into one of peace and comfort. I also know that this is not the first time you've managed a difficult situation with kindness, poise, and patient advocacy in a way that made a difference. I am always amazed by your kindness, your heart and genuine concern for your patients. You are the perfect example of what a hospice nurse is and should always strive to be. I'm so honored to know you and be able to work with you.
