When Brittney felt she wasn't being heard she didn't stop, she persevered even harder.
My grandma was in the ICU for a long time. She had a very long and difficult health history and this hospital stay was no different. I had the pleasure of speaking with both of these nurses on several different occasions and was also able to see for myself over FaceTime. The patience and care that I saw were just natural and not something that can be taught. Even when my grandmother was on the breathing machine and asleep I remember seeing them continue to talk to her like she was awake and aware like you and I are. I can’t imagine what they go through as nurses on a daily basis during the pandemic and I know nothing about actual health & hospitals but if these 2 were ever stressed or upset you would never know. Also, they took the time to make sure my family understand what and why things were happening and kept us at ease so we would feel comfortable leaving her there overnight without us. They could have had 10 patients but as far as we were concerned they had 1 because each time one of them had her they made her priority. That’s all you can ask for as a family member.

Brittney is one of the strongest nurses I have ever worked with. She is always ready for clinical changes in her patients and does her best to prevent them. She is a pro-active nurse rather than a reactive one always advocating for her patients. She always lends a helping hand to other co-workers without being asked. She continues to be a great team player. We had a patient who had been slowly decompensating since the start of our shift. She called every doctor she could from the hospitalist intensivist and nephrologist. When she felt she wasn't being heard she didn't stop, she persevered even harder. As she continued to call and question the orders she was given while voicing her concerns she was able to get a doctor to come into the hospital and help her at the bedside. By voicing her concerns as hard as she did she was able to prevent the patient from eventually coding. I am always thankful and appreciative when I have the chance to work with Brittney.
