Brittney Whitfill, RN

Recently, I had to have an unexpected surgery. When I came out of surgery and was placed in a room, I had Brittney as a nurse. Due to the medication I was on, and the incidents of the day, I was a bit overwhelmed with emotion. Brittney did her “normal” duties, like assisting me with walking to and from the restroom, but what affected me the most was just her overall demeanor. She made me feel comfortable both physically and emotionally. She’s relatively close to my age, but it reminded me of being mothered. When I cried about the wounds on my stomach, Brittney was understanding and encouraging. She talked to me like an old friend. I am beyond blessed that after such a crazy day, I did not have a nurse who treated me like just another patient. God gave me a nurse who treated me like someone she cared about, and that made all the difference.
