Brittni Holcomb, nurse on Unit 67 was caring for a patient who received a dismal prognosis, it so happened to be on the day after he and his wife's 48th wedding anniversary. He was unable to celebrate because he was unexpectedly in the hospital and unable to plan anything with his wife. Brittni, having worked with this patient before and having a connection with them, sprang into action and made arrangements to surprise the patient and patient's wife with a cake for their anniversary. Although it was the day after, they were truly appreciative of the gesture and made a very sad time a happy one for the both of them, even if for just a few moments in time. The patient passed away a few weeks later.
