My five-year-old daughter has leukemia and ended up being diagnosed with shingles, resulting in some very long and painful days. Brooke took care of my daughter and was able to make her smile and even talk a little. When she started to feel a little bit better, Brooke let her call Child Life to let them know what would make her day more fun. Brooke came to check her vitals while she was sitting on the couch coloring. Brooke let her continue what she was doing while she checked her vitals and updated her chart. Brooke even played Memory with her while she monitored her IV meds!
At the end of the day, my daughter was so sad to see Brooke go, especially when she found out she wasn't going to be working the next day. Brooke is now our favorite nurse; not only did she win the heart of my daughter, but my other two daughters quickly fell in love with her as well.
