I had put off getting my knee replaced for years because my anxiety about surgery was constant and overwhelming. When I went in for my PAT appointment, I told Brooke just how nervous I was and even joked that I wanted her to come back with me on the day of my procedure. To my surprise, on the day of surgery, she showed up in scrubs, came to my room, and actually went with me to the OR. She held my hand from the moment I got my spinal block until I fell asleep. The whole time, she reassured me that I would be okay and promised she wouldn't leave my side. Being treated with that level of compassion was incredibly comforting. While everyone on my care team was wonderful, Brooke truly went above and beyond, and it meant more to me than she knows.
