We were so lucky to have Brooke take care of my mom during her recent stay at Good Samaritan. She was extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and caring to every need my mother had, and she also kept my dad and me fully informed in both technical and layman's terms at all times.
In addition, she had such an infectious personality that brought a smile to my mom’s face every time she entered the room, despite the medical issues my mom was dealing with during her stay.
One instance that demonstrates Brooke’s clear above-and-beyond approach to her job and her patients happened one afternoon while my mom and I were on a speakerphone call with my uncle, who is a Catholic priest. He had just begun saying a prayer for the sick for my mother when Brooke came into the room to take vitals.
Without any prompting, Brooke immediately paused taking the vitals, knelt alongside my mom, and joined in the prayer with her. She then placed her hand on my mom’s arm with a loving touch and wished her a speedy recovery, saying that she would keep her in her prayers.
It was the most caring and touching experience I have ever witnessed from a non-clergy medical team member in any hospital. What a tremendous young woman and a great medical talent that Good Samaritan should be proud to have!
