Nurse Brooke was taking care of our patient during the day. My Co-resident and I had a very challenging dressing change to perform, and I asked Nurse Brooke to administer a narcotic medication to pre-medicate for the dressing change. This was around 7 pm, and she was signing out to the night shift Nurse. She graciously retrieved the medication and administered the medication prior to us starting. She willingly stayed to assist my co-resident and me for its entirety. She provided emotional support to the patient and even helped assist us as needed during the dressing change. Her assistance was vital in facilitating a successful dressing change. This work ethic should not go unnoticed, she should be recognized for going above and beyond.
