Brooke was one of my daughter's nurses during the middle and end of our stay. We could tell right away that Brooke is extremely intelligent and caring. There are a few instances where she went above and beyond. She is so attentive and listened to us as we described some previous times that our daughter had to be intubated. She started to decline again and Brooke was on top of things right away. Her quick action and constant monitoring helped keep the physicians alerted and she did not have to be on a ventilator for an additional time.

On another situation we were describing how she likes to be held at home. Brooke recommended the Z-Flow positioner and it worked wonderfully. This made us feel so much better to see our baby get some rest. The most impactful thing that occurred was when Brooke recommended putting on a Disney movie to see if the music would soothe our baby. Brooke tried several movies and watched our baby's response until she found the one that seemed to sooth her the most (Frozen 2). After this we found that when she was tired or agitated we would turn on Frozen 2 and our baby would calm right away. Our daughter's time in the PICU could have been much more stressful without all of the suggestions and attention from Brooke.
