I watched Brooke go way out of her way to serve a family of Syrian refugees with medically fragile children who have only been in the US one month and speak no English. This family had been through some terrible experiences trying to get help and I watched them go from guarded and scared to trusting and laughing as Brooke provided exceptional services to people who had mostly been unseen. The children are a difficult lab stick and now the family is coordinating with Brooke's schedule so they can benefit from her exceptional skills the next time they have to come in.
