One of our nurses met a former L&D patient who is pregnant for the second time expressing feelings of anxiety, stress, and increased worry. This story is shared about Brooke and her work with Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD):
This patient said that her friend had just had a baby at Sierra Vista and had been given information about PMAD. The friend had your pamphlet with the PMAD group meeting information in it. Her friend gave the information to this patient and encouraged her to attend one of the group sessions.
Brooke, this is to tell you that you did it! You are getting the information out into the community. You are normalizing the conversations so that moms feel comfortable talking about PMAD with each other. Moms are recommending your resources and group meetings! All of your hard work is making a difference for the moms in our community! Great job!
