I have been in healthcare for 25 years, a nurse for 23 years, a DFW great 100 nurse, and a 2-time member of the great 100 selection committee. This nurse I would love to recognize, she deserves this honor. When you think about an Extraordinary Nurse that is one who shows compassion, empathy, and listening skills to care for my condition or situation. Communicates with a tone and compassion where I feel comfortable and trusted you with my life. I don’t know you; I don’t know your skill level. I just need to trust you and know I am safe under your care.

Brooke is amazing from the tone of her voice, but most importantly the nursing care she provided to me through listening, making plans of care, and adapting to changes in my condition. I felt so comfortable and trusted her with my life. I knew I was in great hands.

Prior to having Brooke, I was in a nightmare, things were not going well, but she changed everything around and helped me get out of this nightmare. Brooke was my nurse for 2 nights; she helped me to get better and she advocated for my care. On the third night, she was in charge, she came to check on me. Amazing, she made sure I was doing good. She made me feel so cared for and appreciated. She cares. Brooke is extraordinary through her passion, compassion, empathy, listening, great communication, knowledge, uses the power of touch, patient advocacy, adapted to changes in my condition, and great assessment. “Amazing Nurse”.
