What really got me was seeing how gentle kind and motherly she was to my child.
My son has been in the NICU for some time now. I was feeling very overwhelmed this whole week and Friday was especially hard since I was missing my kids back home. Brooke walks in and introduces herself as my son's nurse for the day and assured me that if I needed anything I could just ask. What really got me was seeing how gentle kind and motherly she was to my child. She would comfort him and assure him that he was okay and that she was always nearby. As a mom who cannot be here all the time that was so comforting to me. Brooke always took the time to make sure we were okay and even though she was always busy she made sure we were good. Brooke would talk to me and make sure I as a mom knew that my child was in good hands. She made me feel better about leaving because I knew she would take good care of my son.
The NICU life is not easy for a parent but having her there made it a bit easier for me. She was the most amazing nurse I had ever encountered during our stay here. She even told me it was a pleasure taking care of my son and that was the nicest thing one could ever say to me. Thank you Brooke for hearing me out when I didn't have anyone and thank you for taking care of my son like he was your own.
