I was scheduled for a C-Section and everything was going well until my water broke the night before. I had to come in early and be monitored from that time. Overnight, we had a scare where our baby was not super active and the team came rushing in to check on us. After that time, my husband and I were scared about what would happen next. Brooke came into our room around 7 am and from that time on, there was a new calm about our experience. Brooke was reassuring, knowledgeable, and competent. When she started working with us, it felt like she wrapped her arms around me, my husband, and our unborn baby. She acknowledged my fears, held my hand, explained every step, and never left my side. Brooke made sure that I was able to hold my baby and facilitated skin to skin in the OR. Most moms don't want to have a C-section, but I found that my C-section, because of Brooke, the doctor, the anesthesia staff, and all of the L&D staff members, was the BEST experience. I cannot thank Brooke enough for her care and our amazing experience. I have no doubt that she cares for each and every patient in this same way.
