I would like to nominate Nurse Brooklyn for the DAISY Award because she represents the very best of nursing through her kindness, compassion, and genuine love for her patients. She has a special way of making each person feel seen, valued, and cared for, not only as a patient, but as a whole person. Her gentle presence brings comfort during difficult moments, and her words of encouragement help patients and families feel less afraid. She takes the time to listen, to reassure, and to meet each patient with patience and dignity. What makes her truly extraordinary is the way she cares for the emotional and spiritual needs of those she serves. When patients are anxious, hurting, or facing uncertainty, she offers a calming presence and, when welcomed, takes the time to pray with them.

We had a patient who had a severe reaction to a medication, and she was admitted for desensitization. This process takes about four hours, and she asked the family if they would like her to pray for them. That simple but powerful act brought peace, hope, and comfort to her patient and her loved ones. Her compassion goes beyond tasks and treatments; she creates moments of healing through empathy, faith, and human connection. Brooklyn consistently goes above and beyond to provide excellent care with a servant’s heart. She is the kind of nurse patients remember long after they leave the hospital because of how she made them feel—safe, respected, comforted, and loved. Her kindness is sincere, her compassion is evident in every interaction, and her dedication reflects the true spirit of the DAISY Award. She deserves this recognition for the meaningful difference she makes in her patients' lives every day.
