Bryan Horn has been a nurse on 300 South since June of 2009. In this short amount of time he has excelled as a nurse and has shown growth on a personal level as well. He is the only nurse on 300 South to have received the Caring Spirit Award twice.
Bryan has just completed the RN Residency Program at Memorial and functions in the role of clinical coach, charge nurse and precepts students who rotate through Orthopedics. He is always requested by students and complimented by the clinical instructors from many of our local nursing schools for his willingness to precept and the way he easily shares his knowledge. He demonstrates Memorial’s core values daily and is an example to the rest of the staff of a true professional. Bryan is loved by his patients and respected by the staff, the physicians and nursing leadership. He is the perfect example of what the DAISY award stands for.
Bryan is the “real deal”. He is always positive, professional and willing to help. He is the ultimate team player and will make an effective nursing leader in the future. I thank God that He led me to hire Bryan thus giving him the opportunity to become Memorial’s next great nurse.
James Harris, Nurse Manager (300 South)
Below is a comment made by one of Bryan’s patients;
I will never forget the kindness and compassion shown to me by Bryan Horn after my hip replacement. I have never received such sincere kindness. “He represents Memorial as a top notch hospital” and I thank him so much for the great care.
