Bryan was a leader in delivering safe and compassionate care to R.
R was here for about 2 weeks in the ICU. Everyone who was involved in R's care was so amazing, kind, and compassionate. But I'd like to single out Bryan Spinelli. My mother-in-law just LOVED Bryan. He showed so much compassion and respect to R. J, his wife, and she felt so much at ease with his presence that she requested his care every chance she got. She was very excited when he was working in the ICU and said that he would take care of R on his shift! This was such a difficult time for our entire family, especially because not everyone was on the same page. Some family members wanted everything done -- regardless, and some family members wanted comfort care...and not everyone saw eye to eye. But Bryan and the palliative care team did such a great job in explaining what was going on every step of the way and what to expect that Judy felt comfortable (as much as she was able to). Bryan was a leader in delivering safe and compassionate care to R. He also helped everyone in the family understand what was going on and what to expect. He never did anything without first explaining to everyone what he was doing. I really appreciated everything he did for our family.

Even though R was on comfort care, Bryan still asked if J wanted a blood sugar. I thought that this was very considerate because J was not quite ready to let go at that point. He was so considerate to everyone in our family and I really appreciate his empathic care and the respect he showed to R until he passed away.
